My story

I have always loved music and a few years ago I took it to the next level by starting to play guitar.
As I have learned to play the guitar, I’ve found it to be my favorite instrument. As such, I have decided to make a guitar this winter as my senior project. This blog will be following my attempt.
I will post the steps I take, post photos and make comments regarding the process... And hopefully, I'll post about the finished guitar!"

Thanks for reading!

I finished my guitar just in time for my Graduation! sadly the intonation was off so I couldn't really play it.
But, Sunday I took it to a local luthier who helped me figure out what was off. As it turns out the bridge was off, my fault as I measured in the wrong spot, and my nut could be filed better. So, he helped take the bridge off so i could reglue it in the right spot at home. Also he let me use his files and I got my nut prefect!
Last night I glued my bridge on the right spot, glued my nut back in and since moving the bridge back left a little bit of the previous holes showing I made a covering out of a piece of oak. I'll post pictures as soon as It's all put back together hopefully tomorrow!

Finished all the Shellacking on my guitar! Ready to put it all together! Let it harden for a few days, not as much as recommended but I only have a 6 days to finish now. Need to put the bridge on, file the string slots on the nut. The peg hole tuners need to be put in, and then put stings on!
Then comes the real test, does it sound good? That is what I am worried about.

Well, the reason why I haven't posted in a while isn't because I haven't done anything. I've just been working so much on it!
I got the body sanded down, on the mahogany back and sides I put pore filler and had to sand that down. I set up a spray booth, and I started coating my guitar! Took me a week to get it all done but now my guitar has 12 coats of satin finish and again has to sit for a week before I can continue work on it... which means I have three days to finish it before my graduation... more like 2 and a half.
I'd better get everything prepared!
